Kausani
Kausani is a hill station and village situated in Bagheshwar district in the State of Uttarakhand, India. It is famous for its scenic splendour and its spectacular 300km wide panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Panchachuli. Kausani covers a total 50.2 square kilometre area and is 6200ft above sea level. Kausani is in Bagheshwar district at a distance of 40 km from Bagheshwar city. Due to the altitude, the temperature ranges from 10’c to 26’c during summers and the temperature falls to 2’c-15’c during winters. According to Mahatma Gandhi, Kausani is the Switzerland of India. Mahatma Gandhi had spent some days and wrote his commentary on Anashakti Yog in Anashakti Ashram also known as Gandhi ashram by the common people. The ashram’s rest house is an ideal place to stay and it provides the best panoramic views of the mountains.
